This is what 5 lbs of muscle looks like vs 5 lbs of fat. So don’t focus on your weight. Focus on what you’re made of.
Please also remember that fat surrounds your organs, its sits between the layers of muscles, its all over your hands and feet, its on your eyelids and ears and all those silly random places you dont think about.
When you look in the mirror and dont see an flatter stomach and you cant see where you are losing it from do not think its not happening because it is.
Although if you lose the fat around your eyes (they typically start sagging back into your eye sockets gradually) something is very very wrong - same goes for the fat in the soles of your feet, in your joints, in your cheeks, surrounding your kidneys and your heart - there are different types of fat and the latter body parts are DEFINITELY not the ones you’d like to leave ‘all toned up and nicely shaped’.
This particular kind of fat (let’s call it ‘building fat’) is essential to isolate your body from cold, to work as a convenient cushion for walking, as a comfy bed for your organs or keep your face the way you like it.
I’m sure you’ve seen starving people (on TV or in the mirror). This is a result of these ‘fat cushions’ missing, they are the very last fat the body clings to and mobilizes last - only in times of an emergency to get SOME energy at least.
Needless to say, a boy with hollow cheeks and sagged back eyes does not look very healthy. But yeah, his body fat percentage should range around zero now.
Please keep in mind everything in your body has a purpose and nothing ever is fully evil. There are bad sides to everything and certainly serious health risks for people with an excessive body fat percentage do exist. But there are other sides to fat as well - fat can be AWESOME. Cherish it and for god’s sake please don’t wait for the fat on your eyelids to vanish. Please don’t force it to go.
